Preface

上苑藝術館作為目前國際上規模最大的非營利性綜合藝術駐留機構。倡導以“具有創造性與詩性語言特質的,和藝術家生存的現狀相關的生命體驗作為創作準則的藝術創新”的藝術主張,去發現在野的優秀藝術創作。并從2007年落成至今的十多年光陰中,見證了中國當代藝術的興衰,也凝聚成了一股不可忽視的藝術力量。


駐館藝術家們從各種不同門類的藝術創作中吸聚原創力,不斷拓展視野、刺激感觀、尋求突破。但由于深陷于當代世界的信息網絡之中,使得人們更容易獲得、更容易去選擇、也更容易迷失自我。而作為藝術家需要不斷的通過藝術創作來抵御這些現實信息對自我的蠶食,每一次新的嘗試、新的突破,就如同這個世界上的其他生命體態一樣,在世界秩序中無序的生長著、掙扎著、綻放著。


本屆上苑國際創作計劃入選的來自27個不同國家的60位駐留藝術家,他們從各自不同的時空秩序中掙脫,來到上苑藝術館這樣一個新的場域中。這次展覽將會是上苑藝術館2019年國際藝術駐留計劃的序章,我們通過嚴格的評選,將各位藝術家創作的精華以集體匿名的形式展示給大家。不論過往如何的輝煌或落魄,在這里,這些具有個體藝術之魂的藝術家們,將會在上苑駐館的7個月的時光中,通過與空間、時間、個體及事件之間的對話,獲得藝術的新生。

Shangyuan Art Museum currently runs the biggest nonprofit multi-disciplinary residency program in the world. We promote the viewpoint that ‘artistic creations with innovative and poetic characteristics should be inspired by individual experience of artists’ life conditions’, and to discover great artworks in the field. For more than a decade since our establishment in 2007, we have witnessed the rise and fall of contemporary Chinese art and have come a force in art world that cannot be ignored.


Our resident artists take inspirations from different art disciplines, to expand the horizon, to stimulate the senses, and to break though barriers. However, with the overflow of information in our world, it is far easier nowadays for people to choose, to obtain information, but also to lose yourself. As artists, we have to keep resisting the corruption from these abundance of information through our work of creation. Every new attempt, every new breakthrough, we will be just like every other species in this world, growing, struggling, and blossoming in this chaotic world order.


This year’s Shangyuan Residency Program is hosting 60 artists from 27 different countries. They broke free from the restraint of their own space and time, coming to Shangyuan, this new field. This exhibition will be the prelude of the 2019 Residency Program. After our rigorous selection process, we now gather the best of our artists into a unity to present to you, our audience, in anonymity. Despite our past glory and failure, here in this moment, these artists, with their individual artistic spirits, will spend 7 month in Shangyuan, via space, time, individual and collective experience and dialogue, to achieve artistic rebirth.

1992年生于廣西,2013年考進中央美術學院中國畫學院山水專業。Born in Guangxi in 1992, he was admitted to the landscape major of the Chinese painting Institute of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2013.

成姣龍 Cheng Jiaolong

出生于河北新樂,現居石家莊。畢業于河北師范大學。

自述:

很奇怪,我們大部分在看作品的時候總是先入為主的歸類它,一幅畫、一件裝置、一段影像、一個作品……所以當一個思維一旦展現在一張紙一塊布上的時候,思維屈從了現實,薩特說“他人即地獄。”作為一個藝術事件的挑起者,我們都太“老實”了,我們總是太過于相信這是時代了。

我的創作努力表現無聲的狀態,但其實這樣我很痛苦。盡管思維上是如何的聲嘶力竭,行為上卻尊重了一幅畫的特質:安靜的事物。所以說,用一個沒有聲音的事物取描繪聲音,是多么讓人壓抑的事情。深受當代藝術之害,我完全不知道什么是美,怎么審美,這很難過。我只是努力的讓它安靜。我想,繪畫是一種圖示,或者是應該是一種圖示,運用它應該像運用文字一樣,有的人熱愛文字本身的美感,有的人熱愛文字透露的含義。那么,一幅畫應該只是一兩個字而已。

由于現實中我是說一大堆話完全說不到點子上的人,所以我創作的時候總是極其喜歡用一些簡單的方式堆砌沒有特定指向的形象。16年開始創作的“狀態系列”緣由于我對人物狀態的興趣。看到身邊某個人愣神,看著他盯著一個事物失神覺得好神奇,他可能嘴角上翹、撅著嘴,我覺得他的思維沖出了身體,那一刻,他的思維一定是特別自由的,但是身體卻被“施了定身法”。因此我開始了嘗試將給不同狀態的人“施法”,使其禁聲。

“需要系列”是在某一段工作中對自己的鼓勵。當時想如果藝術在生活中還有用的話,最起碼應該講道理吧。

Gal.la Uriol Jané(西)

Gal.la Uriol Jané (Barcelona 1978), lives between Barcelona and Berlin, a city she discovered in 2001 as a result of her exchange at the Universität der Kunst, in George Baselitz’s class.


In 2003 he graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona in the specialty of painting and in 2006 he made the final project of studies, specialty of arts and theory, at the school of design Eina.


Gal.la Uriol Jané is a painter committed and intrigued to find the right way to express an idea, aware of the fragility of this process that is reflected in the unstable materials it uses. His work is the result of an existentialist interest to understand and live all that surrounds us and we are. Play and turn the meanings, respecting the mysteries. From the most banal and everyday questions how we build our world? How do we represent? What is identity? How can we know? What is gender? What is pain?


Gal.la Uriol Jané invites the viewer to constantly jump of scale, structure and material, confronting it with models, objects, representations of the universe, of man or of certain forces that act at a molecular level, to enter a more ethereal and metaphysical terrain, and from this place, unstable and confused, keep questioning things.

Statement:

Last winter I visited Pripyat, the ghost town closest to the site of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, where over the past thirty years nature that was destroyed by human hubris and incompetence has grown up to dominate the abandoned man-made structures.  Although created in an intimate scale and presented in a whimsical fashion, using embroidered floral and plant motifs often pejoratively ascribed to the realms of “decorative art” or “craft”, on closer examination the implications become more sinister.  As plants seemingly grow uncontrollably through the buildings and streets, people are either absent from or oblivious to the situation.  Viewers are left to wonder about this change in dynamic, what preceded it, and what can prevent it.  The resulting works exist in an ambiguous space: a drastic shift has clearly occurred, but nature has fought back and perhaps a new balance has been reached. 





何家明 He Jiaming

何家明,1984年出生于中國廣東,自由職業藝術家,現生活工作于北京。

He Jiaming, born in 1984 in guangdong China, freelance artist, now is working and living in Beijing.

后白月(原筆名白月),70后詩人。中國作家協會會員。獲第八屆臺灣薛林青年詩歌獎;巴蜀青年文學獎。曾出席全國第七屆青創會。參加《詩刊》第31屆“青春詩會”。魯迅文學院第31屆青年作家高研班學員。著有詩集三部。現居重慶。 

Hou Baiyue (previous penname Baiyue), the poetess born in 1970s and member of China Writers Association, won the 8th Taiwan Xue Lin Youth Poetry Award and Bashu Youth Literature Prize. She once attended the 7th National Youth Literary Creation Conference and participated in the 31st Youth Poetry Conference of 《Poetry Periodical》. She was a student of the 31st Advanced Research Class for young writers in Lu Xun Literature College. She is the author of three poetry anthologies and lives in Chongqing at present.

Josh Gibbs(英)

My current practice engages with the overlapping cycles of construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction - human systems that become knotted together as they slowly interweave into nature.  My project beginning 4 years ago, Darkhouses, examines the roles involved and the peculiar spaces and situations that both perpetuate and are created by these patterns.

For my process, I have gathered displaced building and decorating materials from a variety of locations  - tile showrooms, building sites, skips, the eroding Norfolk coastline or the transient streets of Beijing. Once I have enough materials, I investigate their function as ready-made objects with their location in mind, by placing them together in newly devised scenarios.

莫籽(Mos),1986年生人。

2015年畢業于廣州美術學院城市學院油畫專業,作品《惑》(原名《我有病》)系列獲廣美城院畢業匯報展優秀畢業創作。

2016年聽從內心的呼喚,到西藏并投入當地兒童美術教育工作。

2017年作品《三月》入選"喜迎十九大雪域情第二屆西藏油畫展"。

2018年作品《〇〇》《百合》入選第七屆大學生藝術博覽會。

2018年作品《〇九》入選FRONT前研 [意視界-2018全國當代繪畫作品展]。

Mos, born in 1986.

I graduated from the oil painting major of city college of guangzhou academy of fine arts in 2015. My works confused (formerly named "I am sick") won the excellent graduation work in the graduation report exhibition of guangmei city college.

In 2016, I followed the call of my heart and went to Tibet and engaged in the art education for local children.

In 2017, "march" was selected as the second Tibet oil painting exhibition at the 19th national snow area.

In 2018, "" 〇〇" "and" "lily" "were selected to the 7th college students art fair.

In 2018, my work "〇九" was selected into FRONT qianyan [Italian vision -2018 national contemporary painting works exhibition].

1971年生于浙江浦江,現居杭州、浦江,畢業于美術報周韶華新水墨工作室。學者、獨立藝術家。著有藝術史專著《非常中國繪畫史》《非常道——道教的演變及其對中國文藝的影響》。藝術實踐致力于世界文化語境下的中國藝術轉型,以個性化的當代語言闡發東方文化的核心精神,作品多次參加捷克布拉格、北京、上海、廈門、杭州、唐山、威海等地舉辦的國際、國內學術展覽。

Arts resume

Born in Pujiang, Zhejiang Province in 1971, currently lives in Hangzhou and Pujiang, and graduated from zhoushaohua’s new ink studio. Scholar, independent artist. He is the author of the monograph " Unusual Chinese Painting History" and " Unusual Taoism-The Evolution of Taoism and Its Impact on Chinese Literature and Art." The practice of art is committed to the transformation of Chinese art in the context of world culture, and the core spirit of Oriental culture is expounded in a personalized and contemporary language. His works have participated in international and domestic academic exhibitions held in Prague, Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Tangshan, Weihai and other places.

一念放下,萬般從容。放下金錢、名利的誘惑,不以物喜,不以己悲,以平常心待人處事。通過最簡潔樸實的手工線條,表達無欲無求的生活方式及淡泊寧靜的生命狀態,從最平凡的日常生活中品味人生的快樂。如同禪宗高僧,從伐竹、擔水、掃地等日常生活中禪修悟道。

One thought put down, like a calm. Put down the temptation of money, fame and fortune, not to enjoy things, not to be sad, to treat people as normal. 炫名 Xuan Ming

個人簡介:

藝術家炫名,在精神失常時找到了藝術,在愛的追求中創立了Apm數學定理, 曾身無分文地流浪過,也曾為心中的繆斯而去到成都并在那里生活了四年。在2016年,他的書《漂·繹:一個藝術家的瘋狂、性、藝術與哲學》出版,講述其故事、油畫、詩作和哲學。至今他已在東莞、成都、廣州、深圳、歐洲等地舉辦過各種個人展覽及藝術活動。

炫名的作品涉及人生、哲學、性、宗教等元素,而最為突出的是其對數學的涉及。在他的畫中總能發現與數學、密碼相關的特性,在這部分畫中,他把自己創立的Apm定理融入其中,因而沒有過多的隨機。每一個符號、幾何圖形的構成、甚至物象和線條的位置和顏色的選擇都是一套經過數學處理的密碼,而里面則隱含著一些被遺忘的信息。如同一張尋寶地圖般訴說著一個隱蔽的故事。他的畫所涉及的主題:數學、哲學、物理、宗教和性,都在以各自的方式——邏輯、思辨、探索、信仰與感受——企圖闡述人生與宇宙的奧秘以求找到可能的真理,而這也是炫名的藝術之路,在未知的深究中不斷前行。

Artist Pamviles found art when he suffered from a mental break at 18, ever since then art has become part of his life. For 4 years living in Chengdu he exhibited in many places and participated many art activities, including two solo exhibitions and published his book which is about his stories, paintings, poetry and philosophy. So far he has exhibited in Dongguan, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Europe and many other places.

His paintings are related to life, sex, religion, mathematics, philosophy and many other subjects. He created a mathematical theorem (Apm Theorem) when he was 20 and he combines it with his paintings too. So in the latest paintings that he created, he combined art with math, using the codes he created to hide information within the paintings, it’s like a map trying to tell a hidden story.

作品闡釋:“越模糊,越真實。”在不斷的涂抹覆蓋過程中,畫面上的形逐漸消失,取而代之的是一個全新的差不多都沒有的“形”。這一系列作品,整體色調偏冷,畫面陰郁冷清、暗沉,似乎像是在訴說什么,又像在回避什么一樣。我是一個矛盾的人,當畫面逐漸完整的時候,我卻開始“破壞”畫面。在不停的破壞過程中,直到最后盡量找到一個合適的平衡點才終止。生活中不是所有的事情都是一帆風順的,當遇到逆境時,人的本性是逃避,但是逃避又解決不了問題。問題還在那里,終究還是得處理的,因此總得找個權衡之計。繪畫如此,生活亦如此。無數的線條的涂抹和疊加,既豐富了層次,又削解了內容,使得畫面具有了一種難以言語的神秘感。我向往這種神秘感。

楊先平 Yang Xianping

作者簡歷:楊先平,畢業于四川美術學院,中國藝術研究院訪問學者,教授。

作品評述:近年來主要采用綜合材料進行藝術探索。我的作品上佛像符號的形成類似拓印漢代畫像石、畫像磚,不斷的重復這些拓印的佛像,意義是在不斷重復繪制雕刻的過程中緩慢展現出來,這個過程很重要,隨著時間的流逝,心緒的變化,生成的圖像變化萬千,或濃或淡、或清或濁、排列出一個萬象世界。

《706RMB》在一個偶然,剛過完年回去工作的第一天,整個人還沒有從老家的那種氛圍中抽離,滿腦子都是催婚式的洗腦跟游說。突然在最熟悉的操作臺,我失誤的把自己的手指劃破了,我沒想去包扎,但是血流不停,就找了個診所處理傷口,莫名心疼的花了706元。

《生門》沒有性生活像一種修行,你在街上走著走著,天上都能落個寂寞砸到你頭上,當下因為重男輕女導致的有三千多萬的男人找不到配偶,拜金現實思想蒙蔽世人,生活成本教育成本過高,生育率越來越低,整個國家在不斷變老,新的生命力越來越少,我們何去何從.......

作品簡介 :

《三十六度九》系列作品的創作,是作者在不惑的年齡,在一個心力憔悴身體不堪負荷頻頻發出警告的狀態里,用一種類似修行的方式來將自己拉回到一種日常中的平常,每天在宣紙上渲染覆蓋上一遍薄薄淡淡的顏色,待干之后再覆蓋上同一種顏色,一遍又一遍的層層渲染,是時間在生命中的映射,其間夾雜著工作學習生活瑣事等等感受。

很多女性藝術家的生命狀態都是被裹挾在工作、家庭和藝術之間。在平和安靜的時候伴著舒緩的音樂勾勒線條,將自己融進每一根線條的走向里,形成一種自我壓縮的生活狀態,也映照著自我的人生狀態。作品中女性生命年輪在一遍又一遍看似無意實為有意的流淌中增添著生命年輪的厚度。

Introduction

 Works of thirty-six degrees nine set was produced at the unconfused age of  author and in a condition that he was mentally and physically exhausted and was badly warned so many times, she used a way similarly like practice Buddhism to push      himself to a normal life, and he colored and covered a layer filmy and light color in   rice papers every day, After it was dry, and covered the same color and exaggerate it again and again, which was a reflect of life, and work, study, the things of life and other feelings were mingled with them.

Life conditions of many female artists were coerced between work, families and art. They sketched lines and made themselves melt into every line’s trend in the peaceful and quiet moment with soft music, which became a self-compressed life condition and also reflect the state of life of themselves . females life growth ring in works was increasing the growth ring’s thickness of life again and again in the seemingly unintentional but actually intended flowing.
